The Tapel Massacre occurred during World War II on December 15, 1944, in Tapel, Cagayan, Philippines. Japanese forces brutally killed approximately 100 Filipino civilians, including women and children, as retribution for local support of guerilla activities against the Japanese occupation. The massacre was marked by extreme violence and was part of broader wartime atrocities committed by occupying forces in the Philippines. This tragic event highlights the severe human cost of the war and the suffering endured by civilians caught in the conflict, emphasizing the brutal nature of Japanese military reprisals during their occupation.
