Tsarevich Alexei, son of Nicholas Romanov (Nicholas II). The young heir-to-the-throne's hemophilia caused his mother, the Tsarina Alexandra, to turn to Grigori Rasputin (the "mad monk") for help. Distrust of Alexandra and Rasputin helped fuel revolutionary sentiment. |
