princes in the Durbar Procession. In December, 1911, George V was
crowned Emperor of India, at Delhi. The visit of King George and
Queen Mary to India on this occasion was the first such visit of the
king and queen in the history of British rule. The Durbar was a
gathering of the native rulers of India, to take part in the coronation
ceremonies. |
