This drawing depicts a scene along the Jordan River in ancient times.  The Jordan River is 156 miles (251 kilometers) in length. Its source is in the Golan Heights, and it flows into the Dead Sea.  According to Christian beliefs, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Click here to enlarge.
