Butch Cassidy, born Robert LeRoy Parker in 1866, was a notorious American outlaw and leader of the Wild Bunch gang. Cassidy gained fame for his daring bank and train robberies across the American West during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He adopted the alias Butch Cassidy after working as a butcher and associating with Mike Cassidy, a cattle rustler.

Cassidy's gang, including the infamous Harry Longabaugh, known as the Sundance Kid, became legendary for their heists and ability to evade law enforcement. Despite his criminal activities, Cassidy was known for his charismatic personality and non-violent approach during robberies.

In 1901, facing increased pressure from law enforcement, Cassidy and the Sundance Kid fled to South America. Their fate remains a mystery, with conflicting reports about their demise. Butch Cassidy's legacy endures in popular culture, symbolizing the romanticized outlaw of the American West.
