| SCENE OF THE BATTLE AT LA GUASIMAS: This photograph represents the present appearance at the junction of the roads where the hottest part of the fighting occurred. The grave of Hamilton Fish, killed at this point, is a short distance to the left. Our artist and his companions found the land crabs so numerous at this place that they could scarcely walk without stepping on them.
