South Sudan |
South Sudan lost approximately 2.5 million
lives during its long struggle to be independent of Sudan. Following a vote in January of
2011, in which 98% voted for independence, the country of South
Sudan officially came into existence on July 9, 2011. The capital city of South Sudan is Juba. |
