We stumbled upon this anonymous image in...you guessed it...a box of old books and photographs, hidden away in an attic. This was in Toledo, Ohio. A visitor to the site recently helped identify it as likely being the Jacob Folger Meat Packaging Company, which operated on Phillips Avenue in West Toledo. This antique photograph was crammed into an old book published in the 1890s. According to
this article in the
Toledo Blade, the Folger meatpacking plant closed its doors on June 19, 1946.
This is very likely the only copy of this image in existence. This leads us to our next query...can anyone identify the people in this old photograph? Email us at webmaster[at]studenthandouts.com.
