Nouns Distinguishing Gender Worksheet #1 The term gender means that something is identified as feminine (female) or masculine (male). Most nouns in English are gender neutral, which means that English uses the same word for males (boys or men) and females (girls and women). For example, a car is just a car. However, nouns for types of living things--people and animals--are often different based on gender. For example, a male or masculine parent is a father or dad, and a female or feminine parent is a mother or mom. Trace and write the terms: gender - feminine - masculine - neutral |
